Would you like to spend more time in Presence and less time lost in worries, fears, judgments, and other negative thoughts and feelings? By following some simple practices, you can master your mind and emotions. You can learn to be happier and more at peace regardless of what is happening in your life.
This course will give you the understanding and tools you need to become free of negativity and suffering and experience the peace, contentment, and joy of your true nature. You can break free from the limitations imposed by your thoughts and live more at peace with life and with yourself. The understandings and tools presented will help you discover who you really are and live as that rather than being tossed to and fro by a negative mind.
This 8-week course has information, exercises, and meditations to help you quiet your mind, dis-identify with it, and move into the present moment where you can experience your true nature, which is at peace with life and contains all the wisdom you need to create a happy and fulfilling life. The key to happiness is not getting something from outside ourselves or even improving ourselves, but connecting with our own source of wisdom, happiness, peace, and contentment. We are all masterful and joyful beings. This course will help you discover the true source of happiness and leave behind limiting thoughts and beliefs and the painful emotions they create.
TOPICS THAT WILL BE COVERED INCLUDE:
In this course, we will be using the book “Eight Steps to Happiness”. This book covers the Buddhist meditation practices of the "eight-fold path". We will be taking an in depth look at working with the sensations of the body and mind, our states of mind and the dhammas the deepest teaching of the Buddha namely Impermanence, The fading away of suffering and the cessation of attachment to the self.

Shane Wilson, the instructor of this course is a Buddhist minister who has dedicated his life toward helping those wishing to further their practice of meditation. Shane has studied meditation In Thailand, China, with many gifted teachers throughout the world. He regularly teaches at the Arizona International Buddhist meditation Center as well as facilitating retreats, workshops and talks around the Phoenix AZ area. He lives in Mesa Arizona.
